If you have ever coveted Kim Kardashian’s
razor sharp cheek bones and wondered how she achieves her airbrushed look, you
will be happy to know that it doesn't just come down to great genes. Even the
Kardashian family need a little help to look their best and they get this help
from the industry’s top makeup artists.
Makeup contouring is the latest
celebrity makeup craze with some of the best celebrity makeup artists using
their skills to change the appearance of the facial structure. By using a
number of different contouring techniques, you can define your features for a
spectacularly sculpted look. You don’t need killer cheek bones to rock this
look and with a few tips and tricks you can fake your way to perfect bone
structure in just a few simple steps. Contouring has taken the world of beauty
by storm and here is how you can incorporate it in to your pre-party regime.
Here is a step by step guide to
contouring:
- Create
an even base by applying a thin layer of foundation with a foundation brush or
your fingertips. - Use
a darker powder and brush it along your hairline and the hollows of your
cheeks. - Use
a lighter powder to highlight your jaw line, the sides of your nose, your lower
lip and underneath your chin. - Next,
highlight the bridge of your nose, brow bones and your cheekbones to increase
the intensity of the look. - Finish
off the look by applying a dot of concealer to your cupid’s bow. - Blend
the highlighted areas with a brush and the result should be a beautifully
contoured look.
Kim Kardashian is a huge fan of the
contoured look and her makeup artist regularly uses the technique to ensure
that Kim is red carpet ready. If you want to learn how to contour like Kim, you
can find a number of tutorials online on Youtube.
It is the responsibility of
a makeup artist to keep up with the latest trends in order to be able to create
the latest looks and meet the demands of clients. The airbrushing and
contouring technique can be learned by taking TV make-up courses and
many other professional makeup courses at a professional makeup school. If you
want to learn more about contouring you could take a course and learn the art
of creating a contoured look at home.
