Some days life just beats you down and you need something to perk you up. I am so thankful that I’m a Ubichamp because it really has its perks! First we had the chance to review Just Dance 4 and now we are reviewing The Hip Hop Dance Experience a hot new dancing game for those who love artist like Outkast, B.O.B, and Nicki Minaj. This game took a usually dry and depressing day and turned it on its head and made it break dance! Check out my little review below:

Featuring 40 chart topping hits and over 750 dance moves created by Laurieann Gibson, Kid David, and Dave Scott. This game proves to be a hit for Hip Hop dance lovers around the world. We didn’t waste anytime popping in the game due largely in part to the song listing which included such artist as Qtip, TLC, and Da Brat. We were children of the 90s and these artist were huge back then so this game was a like a trip down memory lane for us. The very first thing I noticed about this game is that the dance moves looks like something you would actually do in public.

Unlike the choreography for the Just Dance games , the dance moves in The Hip Hop Experience look like something from the movie You Got Served or Stomp The Yard. Dance moves that are sure to give you street cred or at least up your dance confidence a bit.

Game Features:

  • Dance Party – Jump in at anytime with your own level of difficulty

  • Dance Battle- Face off with your friends and have a real life “You go served” moment

  • Power Schooling –Master every dance move with step-by-step tutorials

  • Dance Marathon-Dance to an endless stream of tracks to keep the score moving or its “Game Over”

My favorite feature in this game would have to be the power schooling mode. My sisters were trying to master the dance moves below but were having a hard time. With power schooling they were able too get a hang of the dance moves after a few tries. We all agreed that this would be a great addition for Just Dance 4 and any other dance game out there. It actually makes the game easier and more exciting to play.

While we did love this game, compared to other games like Just Dance 4 the graphics were a little dated. At times the graphics were too bright and we often had a difficult time figuring out which avatar we were suppose to follow. The scroll for the home screen goes too fast and you often end up passing the song you wish too select. The home screen background is also too dark and the font is entirely to small. There are also repeated dance moves throughout the game which can make the game predictable. Other than that my sisters heart this game and feel that if given the chance they could totally dance circles around Rihanna. That’s right chica you just got served! Check out the video and pictures of my sisters busting a move below:
