I Choose Me- A Post About Building Self-Esteem

I have been wanting to write a post about this for a long time. An issue that women, men, children, and adults all struggle with…Self-Esteem.

How can any of us really build a strong self esteem when we are surround by people and things that tell us we are not good enough. When you read the paper you see celebrities who are so beaten down by the insults constantly being thrown by the media that they turn to plastic surgery and drugs just to numb the pain. Is this the world we’re forced to live in? Sadly the answer to that question is yes. But if we all learned to value our own opinions above others we would be able to survive this difficult world we live in.

If you are a 200 pound fashionista who is confident in her own skin, should it bother you when some one tells you that you would be much more beautiful if you lost weight? If you wake up and look in the mirror and smile at your bright pink hair, should you care if someone irrelevant to your life, tells you, you look insane? My point is, if you love the way you look, ignore everyone else. I did a post a while back about bullying and realized that there are so many of us that struggle with not feeling good about ourselves. Most of our low self esteem may be pushed on by those around us like family and friends, or may be exaggerated when someone we don’t know insults us. How do you get past everyone else's opinion to find what you really think of yourself?

I often catch myself wondering what life would be like if everyone took a dose of positivity every morning. Would we still do what ever we could to tear others down? Or, would we go out of our way to remind everyone how beautiful and irreplaceable they are? Sadly, asking that question won’t change the current state of things but I hope it will at least move others to think about being nice to the next person you meet. Remember, your one rude comment could have such a negative effect on not only the life of your victim but on your own self esteem and reputation as well.

Change of Pace

I am beginning to realize that I no longer enjoy doing reviews. Crazy I know since my entire blog focus up until this point has been heavily focused on my review work. But, honestly I've been debating this for the past month. My interest have changed and to be honest I don't even wear makeup as much anymore, its just no longer a joy of mine. Photography has taken over my life and while I don't intend to turn my back on the beauty world I do intend to shift my focus a little.

From here on out you will see more fashion related post on the blog and a LOT more photography. I will still review things from time to time but the review format will be completely different. I will no longer write long review articles. Instead I have figured out a way to review the product while also showing you how it looks when in use (incorporating photography here). I hope some of you will stick around for this change but if this is the last time we will speak I want to thank you for sticking with Sweet Tart Beauty this long. As far as a name change, I’m still on the fence about this. Let me know in the comments below, should I change the name or just leave it the same.

See you back here in the early A.M for another edition of My Friday Fancies.
