I am so excited to share this foundation review with you guys. A while back I was contacted by the kind folks at Prescriptives to do a fun online foundation match. when I first read the words online foundation match , I thought to myself “this has to be a joke” I mean how could anyone match your foundation perfectly over the internet. But I was so wrong. The foundation match was perfect and I would love to share my experience with you guys.

What is a Beauty Genius?
I had the privilege of having a custom blend chat with Px Beauty Genius Nikki( no longer works with Prescriptives). Nikki was so kind and after speaking with her for thirty minutes I felt confident that I would finally find the foundation match I’ve always searched for.
Nikki and I discussed my previous foundations and what I loved and didn’t love about each one. I told her about my love for my Mac NC45 foundation but how I hated the weird white cast the foundation left on my face when taking photographs. We spoke about different things I look for in a foundation like coverage and finish.
From the picture above Nikki said that she felt that I had really good skin but she could see signs of acne scarring. She then asked me if I preferred full or medium coverage. I told her that I preferred full coverage foundation but she encouraged me to try a medium coverage foundation instead, stating that I actually have great skin.
Speaking with Nikki felt like speaking to a close friend. She was so understanding and helpful. Every question I asked I felt as if Nikki had the perfect answer. I must admit because I am more on the darker side of the skin tone spectrum I feared that doing an online foundation match would possibly end up being a huge mistake. With that fear pressing on the front of my brain, I asked Nikki if she felt Prescriptives had the ability to match women from a wide range of skin tones. She assured me that Prescriptives has had the opportunity to match the foundation of many women around the world. She even told me about a client that had a deep dark complexion that called her crying with excitement when she realized Prescriptives actually matched her skin tone perfectly. After hearing that, all my fears subsided and I was eager to review my new custom foundation. After a day or so I received an email with my Custom Blend foundation.

Don’t allow the difference in lighting to fool you. My blemishes are covered and I don’t appear to have excess makeup on my face which I hate. Here is another comparison of the Cover girl foundation and the Prescriptives Custom Blend Foundation.
Above I am wearing my Covergirl Queen Collection foundation on the left and Prescriptives Custom Blend foundation on the right. I actually like them both but felt that the Prescriptives Custom Blend foundation covered more of my acne scarring and left my skin feeling moisturized. The sun cast a bit of an orange tint to my skin so check out the photographs taken in doors below.
On the left I am wearing my Mac foundation. The lighting really broadcast my oily skin. I also notice that weird white cast around my chin area. With the Prescriptive foundation on the right, my skin is even , not oily, and looks natural. I think it’s a no brainer which foundation I love more.
