Spring Fashion- The Maxi Dress Edition

1/2/3/4

The other day my closet practically exploded and as I sat in the chair examining all of my clothing strewn across the floor I noticed something. The majority of the things in my closet are maxi dresses. Yes, people I am a maxi dress obsessed chica and I honestly can’t wait until Florida remembers it is called the Sunshine State again so that I can whip those babies out!

The thing I love about maxi dresses is that you can wear them all the time. Eat too much at dinner and feeling bloated, no worries grab a maxi dress and you can look slim and put together in no time. I love functional clothing and in my opinion these dresses just scream comfortable and cute. Now that spring is around the corner, we can begin packing away those bulky sweaters and start shopping for our Spring wardrobe.

Personally, I plan on loading up on more maxi dresses and maybe even a romper this season. Are you excited for Spring? If so, what trend are you dying to try out? Maxi Dresses? Rompers? Let me know below!

Pink and Red-Friday Fancies

Pink and Red

Pink and Red by daniellebrns featuring floral tops

1/2/3/4

V-Day is over and now it is back to everyday life for some of us. I was very excited for this weeks Friday Fancies because it involves two of my favorite colors red and pink.

I didn't really want to mix the two colors in the outfit so I chose to stick with mostly red in the outfit and added pink on the nails with the Incoco nail decals.

Next week will be full of exciting post and I can't wait to share them with you all. In the meantime, here are a few exciting sales happening over the weekend.

Bag Obession

Bag Obession

Bag Obession by daniellebrns featuring a zipper bag

Lately I have noticed that I have a huge obsession with bags. Last week I came across a new site called Emilie M. Emilie M focuses on offering quality handbags for the fashionable woman on a budget. My personal favorite bag on the site are the Laura Bags. (Bag numbers 3 and 4). Both bags are $85 and are perfect for people that love to bring every gadget in their home out in public with them. Yes I am one of those people and sometimes tiny bags just don't work for me. I can already tell this site will become a fast favorite of mine. If you want Shop the Laura Collection from Emilie M Handbags! or tell me below which bag from the Emilie M site is your favorite.

While we are on the subject of bags. I fell in love with those fancy camera bags that you see all over the net these days. But like most people I can't afford to spend $200+ dollars on a camera bag. So while we were in Ross the other day I picked up a cute yellow purse for $18 and made my own camera bag.

Everything fits in the bag perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Have you ever attempted a DIY project? If so let me know about it below.

Its Cold in Here...

Burrr it is freezing in Central Florida today. I’m all bundled up in sweatpants and my favorite owl snuggie while writing this blog post. This weeks Friday Fancies is all about cold weather so even though I’m not currently looking very glamorous, if I were in the mood to leave the house today I would probably dress in something like this:

SKi Trip

SKi Trip by daniellebrns featuring silver bangle bracelets

This outfit has three major things I love; booties, floral, and jeggings. Now
I don’t mean those booties of course, I’m talking about the cute knit booties
from Debinhams.com.($22). My feet are always cold so I am constantly on the look
out for chunky booties that will keep my feet warm.

Floral is another personal
favorite which I tried to incorporate with these earrings from the Disney store
and this bag from zumiez.com. My grandmother loved floral and I just think the
older I get the more I’m turning into her and you know what, I’m ok with that.

Jeggings my dear, jeggings are by far the best thing man has invented since
the heated toilet. I finally purchased a pair from Wal-Mart a month ago and I
have worn them non stop ever since. If you don’t own a pair , do yourself a
favor and go buy a pair, you won’t regret it.

This sweatshirt is from a company called Wear Love. A clothing company that
supports the International Justice Mission, a human rights agency that rescues
victims of slavery, sexual trafficking and other forms of violent oppression. I
will gladly support any company that supports something that I am so passionate
about. If you haven’t yet please look up the movie Not Today. A powerful film
that explores the topic of sex trafficking and the horrors these young women
face. I loved the movie and I’m sure you will benefit from watching it also.

Friday Fancies- Green With Envy

Emerald Green dress

Emerald Green by daniellebrns featuring a bow belt

1/2/3/4/5

  1. This back lace detail on this Forest Green dress is so beautiful. And for only $34 it just begs to be in my closet.

  2. The older I find myself being drawn to simple girly pieces. These pearl button earrings are so cute and in my opinion very classy.

  3. This shoulder bag would be perfect for storing my tablet, wallet and anything else I could think to shove in there. Without ever looking bulky.

  4. I felt that this dress needed just a little sparkle so I added this glitter bow belt to pump us the sass.

  5. These brogue style lace up shoe boots add a nice touch to this outfit. They are from an online shoe store called Shu Shu and are currently selling for {14.99.

I'm back, Giveaways and more

Last week you may have noticed the blog lacked consistent content. Before you beat me with mascara wands please allow me too explain myself. Last week I was in Atlanta for medical reasons. I returned home Saturday but had a few days of recovery to deal with. Now that I'm back expect to see a Sibu Beauty giveaway tomorrow and a nice jewelry giveaway for the new year.

Also I'm searching high and low for a blog designer that can produce a blog site that fits with my personality. Bohemian, hippy, earthy are just a few words that describe me. If you know someone with the same style please share their info below. I really want a site redesign for the new year.

Friday Fancies- Autumn Faves

Pumpkin Spice

Pumpkin Spice by daniellebrns featuring pearl jewelry

My favorite part of autumn has to be the endless supply of
pumpkins! This time of year makes me remember cold autumn nights at my grandmother’s
home smelling the sweet smell of pumpkin pie baking in the kitchen. This is definitely
my favorite time of year!  What is your
favorite time of year?

P.S If you haven’t yet, check out this outfit post I did
last week!

Friday Fancies: Monotone

I enjoyed this months Friday fancies assignment! I love black and most of my wardrobe consist of this color. I wanted to create an outfit that stuck to my color palette but also added a few elements I love like metal and prints.

But I promise my entire wardrobe doesn't consist of all black. Take the picture below for example;

I DIY'd these jeans from Target and paired them with my new AE tank top and western chambray shirt courtesy of Seventeen magazine and American Eagle Outfitters.
