Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone

Comfort Zone Quotes

The other day I realized that I have lived in my comfort zone my entire life. There have been times where I have strayed a little and tried new things but for the most part I keep coming back to what is comfortable for me. This affects all areas of my life but today I am specifically speaking about my fashion sense.

Growing up I never really felt good enough, cute, or like any of my peers. I usually reached for jeans, a sweatshirt and comfortable sneakers. Actually at times the idea of stepping out and being noticed freaked me out so I literally did what ever I could to just blend in.

I would say I didn’t follow the crowd or that I was unique but honestly that was a lie. I lacked the ability to truly dress the way I wanted because I wanted so desperately to fit in. Now that I’m 23 years old I kind of want to step out of my comfort zone and try styles that I would only pine over from behind a computer screen.

Celebrities like Beyonce, Demi Lovato, Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus all share a style that I find interesting and daring! More often than not the style post that I share regularly on Fridays are inspired by one of the above mentioned people. I have an eclectic style and lately I just want to show that side of me more. Instead of just posting my favorite fashion looks I want to actually wear them in real life.

Beyonce Knowles

While mulling this over I made a style inspiration board and I would like to share it with you all! The pieces are all over the place and may take some of you back a bit but remember I did say that I am very eclectic.

Look 1:

Casual and Free

Look 2:

Cowgirl Cutie

Both of these looks are scary for me because I usually go for a more laid back look but I am going to try to push myself out of my fashion comfort zone. What do you think of the two outfits I created? Is it too much for a shy fashion virgin? Sound off in the comments below!

Friday Fancies- Spring Break Edition

Spring is officially here and for many of you that means vacation!!! Spring break is known for partying, sight seeing and Spring flings. With that thought in mind I created three different looks from Sheinside.com for every exciting moment of your trip.

First Up- A casual sight-seeing look or a road trip outfit that is both cute and comfortable.
Candy Yum Yum

Don’t let the bright colors scare you away. This year is all about neon and this is a subtle way to pull off this look. Snap a few pictures of palm trees and mojitos as you walk the city in style.

Look 2: All about partying. During this time of the year music and film festivals are popping up in every city. Stay ready to party with this galaxy dress and rocker chic leather jacket. With a choice of sneakers or heels you can dress this outfit up or down. Which do you prefer?

Look 3: Date night! More than likely a few of you will seemingly fall in love with the “one” this Spring break. So be sure to pack a cute dress and heels for your date night by the beach!

Dainty

These are just a few of my favorite go to Spring outfits. Which one is your favorite? Are you heading out for this Spring? Where are you going? Florida, California? Let me know in the comments below!

Spring and Summer - Hot Sunglasses from Firmoo.com

Spring is here which means Summer is just around the corner. That means we will all be on the beach some where soaking up the sun. Or if you live in Florida you will be outside dying of a heat stroke. But who says you can’t die of thirst while rocking a cute pair of specs. In the coming months wraparound sunglasses will lead the fashion trend due to their UV blocking powers. But for the people who have vision problems, a pair of sunglasses is not enough. In this case, prescription sunglasses can provide an excellent service. I did a review a while back on Firmoo and I am here to tell you that they are a perfect solution for fashionable and affordable eyeglasses and sunglasses.

Live Fast Cause it Won't Last- Coachella Fashion

This Friday Fancies is all about St.Patrick’s Day, but because I don’t celebrate this day I decided to feature an outfit I would wear if I hit up the music festivals this summer. I have never been to Coachella but I am always stunned and overly excited about the outfit post that come from the different music festivals, but especially this event in California. This outfit may be a little wild for some, I even have to admit that the length of these shorts made me blush but I am hoping that when my mom sees this she won’t flip out on me. ( Just kidding I love you mama bear)

Coachella

When putting together this outfit I tried to incorporate all of the outfit post I have seen around blog land and Youtube during this time of year. I like that it’s bold without being showy and I also love that it has a bit of an edge to it. Honestly I could see someone rocking this outfit at this years show. If you have a chance to go, please come back and tell me all about your experience. Until then, be sure to check out the other Friday Fancies post and don’t forget to leave some love in the comment section below!

Graphic Tees Designed By Humans

Design By Humans Womens Shirts

1/2/3/4

Growing up I always loved wearing my older siblings clothing because they always had the coolest graphic tees. While I did enjoy wearing dresses and cute girly clothing nothing seemed to beat my sisters worn in Joe Boxer T-shirt. You guys remember that smiley face on commercials back in the 90s? Their clothing was popular because it was something fresh and new for the younger generation.

For a while now I have relied on Wal-mart to give me that fresh new feel when it comes to graphic T-Shirts. Yes, laugh now but their shirts are always hilarious and they feel oh so comfy with a pair of sweats. But my love for bumming it aside, Design By Humans has become my rescue site for finding all things graphic Tee inspired. They have quality T-shirts designed by regular people like me and you! A few of my favorites are:

This cute neon kitty:

and…This Samurai Tiger shirt:

Both of these shirts would go perfectly with my jeans and tee lifestyle! Another awesome thing about Design By Humans is that each product they offer is a story told by different artist throughout the world. Design By Humans gives artist a rare opportunity to showcase their talent to people around the world. So if you are super talented and your art is beyond words give them a shout out, you just might see your design on my next favorites list!

Embroidered Lace Women's Fashion Inspired by Chloe Moritz

Pretty in Lace

1/2/3

I recently read the March issue of Marie Claire with Chloe Moritz and instantly fell in love with her cotton lace dress. Women's fashion has taken a turn that I finally agree with. I mean what girl doesn't love lace?! Completely inspired by this issue of Marie Claire I searched all over the web for online clothing stores that sell lace shirts and dresses. As a last resort I went to the one site that sells fashion pieces in every on trend category.

They have everything from street wear to dainty frilly pieces like the lace items I chose above.

1)This lace/ crochet dress is so cute and I get a really cool 70’s Woodstock vibe from it! If I had the courage to rock a short dress I would purchase this pronto.

2) Simply put I picked this because of the cute characters on the shirt. Plus the lace detail on the sleeves makes me cheese with glee!

3) Did anyone watch Firefly growing up?

Remember Anara? The really pretty “professional working woman”/ love interest of Malcom. Anyway The pink lace lapel shirt from Sheinside.com reminded me of her and I had to pick it. While she didn’t wear anything remotely like that on the show, she did often wear things with sexy lace detail and well a part of me feels she could really rock this shirt.

Are you a fan of lace? Or better yet, Were you a fan of Firefly? It was seriously the best show ever and I’m still angry at Fox for cancelling the show.

Friday Fancies- Diamonds on my Wrist..Diamonds on my Necklace

Diamonds

When ever I hear the word bling I have immediate flashbacks to the 90s hood rap craze where everything was centered around bling. Rappers could not write a lyric without bragging about how many diamond watches they own. This trend annoyed me and I’m actually happy that this word has died down. Now if only we could stop all use of the word swag.

All of the above watches are available until March 4th on Beyondtherack.com. While making this style board I realized that I really don’t own any watches or bracelets. What is with that, huh? I’m not sure but I plan to fix that really soon.

And just for my readers shop BeyondTheRack.com using the invitation code Spring2013. Receive a free $10 credit to pad your wallet for that new blinged out watch. Did I just say that? Yea I’m totally guilty.

All I See Is Gold

you're probably somewhere sunny,

you've turned to Midas

Chorus:

oooooohhh all i see is gold, all i see is gold

Spring 2013 Most Wearable Fashion Trends Featuring Wildpair.com.au

Fashion talk is buzzing because of the recent New York Fashion Week. Many are sitting impatiently waiting to find out what new trends will be walking the streets this Spring. To ease inquiring minds Glamour Magazine has created a slideshow of all the most wearable fashion trends for Spring 2013 and I have chosen my top favorites to share with you guys.

To assist me in sharing my favorite Spring 2013 trends I have enlisted the help of Wildpair.com, a cool privately owned New Zealand fashion store. I recently stumbled upon their site and I have been hooked ever since. Besides the fact that New Zealand is beyond breath taking, their fashion sense is incredible and you want to know something awesome, We USA peeps can shop from their site also! Woo-hoo, and with that in mind let me show you a few favorites from their site.

Spring 2013 Fashion Trends

According to Glamour Magazine stripes, statement sunglasses, short shorts, beading, black and white and faux leather are huge this Spring. To be honest I think this may be the first year that I am pretty much obsessed with every trend this season. From top to bottom, here are my favorites for Spring 2013 from Wildpair.com.

1. If I had to pick one thing Wildpair.com succeeds in , it would have to be their statement jackets. This Zana Jacket features gold studs and guess what, its leather! This jacket just screams rocker chic and I can’t help picturing Miley Cyrus in this jacket walking hand in hand with her hot fiancĂ© Liam!

2. Glamour also mentioned that beading will be huge this Spring and you know what I’m pretty stoked about that. A few runway pictures I saw featured women dressed in beaded flowing dresses and shirts. Honestly I hope I see a few Sari inspired dresses coming out this year, because I have a huge Bollywood obsession and I would break an arm trying to get to one of those dresses. This horizon skirt by Little One, features a nice embellished pearl stud hem and if my thighs were not so huge I would rock this skirt with no shame.

3. The next few pieces in my obsession board feature the hot new black and white trend. I absolutely love this trend because I feel that it is very classic and an easy look to pull off. I also hear “Suit and Tie” By Justin Timberlake every time I see this trend. You have to admit he took this look and made it his own. Hopefully we will see more menswear inspired women's clothing coming out of this trend. I think this Wildpair color block jacket, these color block jeans and these black and white striped pants are a fun way to wear this trend.

4. Spring is quickly approaching and girl if you have the body rock these booty shorts on your spring break. I kind of expected to see really short shorts for Spring 2013 because well booty shorts just scream spring break , right? This trend is not for me personally but I have to admit I’m obsessed with those studded shorts. Just so cute, right!

Spring Fashion- The Maxi Dress Edition

1/2/3/4

The other day my closet practically exploded and as I sat in the chair examining all of my clothing strewn across the floor I noticed something. The majority of the things in my closet are maxi dresses. Yes, people I am a maxi dress obsessed chica and I honestly can’t wait until Florida remembers it is called the Sunshine State again so that I can whip those babies out!

The thing I love about maxi dresses is that you can wear them all the time. Eat too much at dinner and feeling bloated, no worries grab a maxi dress and you can look slim and put together in no time. I love functional clothing and in my opinion these dresses just scream comfortable and cute. Now that spring is around the corner, we can begin packing away those bulky sweaters and start shopping for our Spring wardrobe.

Personally, I plan on loading up on more maxi dresses and maybe even a romper this season. Are you excited for Spring? If so, what trend are you dying to try out? Maxi Dresses? Rompers? Let me know below!
