Montagne Jeunesse - Anti Stress Mask

Picture the scene:

You’ve had a long day and all you want to do is come home and relax. You reach for your face mask and think of how relaxing this will feel on your tired skin. You open the packet, apply the cream to your face and then suddenly you can hardly catch your breath. “Did someone replace my face cream with men’s shaving cream, or has someone snuck up behind me and let out a ferocious fart”. You lean over the counter pick up the packet and take a big sniff. Gasping from the fumes you step back and it hits you, this product smells disgusting, and that foul smell is coming from my FACE!

This exact scenario happened to me today. I received the Montagne Jeunesse anti-stress mud pac in my December Influenster Voxbox. I was so excited to try it because I had previously used their cucumber mask and loved it. But this anti-stress mask did a number on my skin and my nostrils. As soon as I applied it I started to smell a strong scent of men’s cologne. I tried to ignore it but the smell just continued to intensify. My sister walks past the bathroom stops and says “ Did you really just let out an angry fart” after laughing for what seemed like hours , I explained to her that that aggressive scent was coming from my face mask. In disbelief she leaned in smelled the face mask packet and sure enough it was the culprit.

Even after removing the mask from my face, I could still smell it. My skin is burning and I smell like men’s cologne mixed with aggressive gas. How depressing! I really wanted to apply this mask and relax as its soothing ingredients calmed my skin, but instead I received a burning facial and a horrid smell. Don’t let my horrible experience deter you from picking up a Montagne Jeunesse mud pac. Just steer clear of the one labeled anti-stress. Trust me the smell will rob you of clean smelling air for about 30 minutes. If you want to sample their product go for the cucumber mask as the smell is pleasant and it leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

  1. Oh wow!!! It must be fate or something that I came across your post. I've used these Montagne Jeunesse face masks before. I cant remember which ones I used exactly but I never had a problem with any of them. I picked up the same exact one you just used the other day & was planning on using it later. I dont think I've used this one before. Ahhh!!!! lol..I probably shouldn't use it, huh? Besides the bad smell, did it help your face?

  2. lol thank you for visiting my page. In my opinion no, my face didn't feel softer after using this product and my skin didn't appear smooth or clear after using this mask. I ended up washing it off and using my Queen Helene mint julep mask. It literally took a while for that smell to go away though .

  3. That is a shame that you had these results! I just looooove this face mask, and their chocolate one too!! I can say, I'm not sure if I notice a change in my skin, but it's relaxing for me, and that's enough. Plus their super cheap I can find them from anywhere between $.50 to $2. It depends if there's a sale.
