Natural Makeup Remover - Oils for skin

Natural makeup remover

Have you ever come home from a long day of work or a long night of partying reached for your makeup remover wipes and realized there were none left. You search frantically for something to remove your makeup before huge zits forms on your face and ruin your chances of ever being asked out by that hot guy in accounting. Well, maybe you’re not that dramatic, but if you’ve ever been in this position you’ve probably just resorted to using a damp cloth and soap to remove your makeup.

While using soap around your eye area may seem like a quick fix, it can actually cause you to experience dryness in the long run. For many years I have removed my makeup with whatever facial cleanser I saw near me in the bathroom. But the other night I couldn’t find my cleanser anywhere and the last thing I wanted to do was wash my makeup off with hand soap. So I searched through my cabinet and found an oil mixture of coconut and rosemary oil that my mom made up the night before. I dabbed a little on my cotton swab and closed my eyes. As I wiped my eye lid and opened my eyes to take a glance at the cotton swab I saw that my makeup had been removed in one swipe.

I couldn’t believe it; normally I have to wipe my eyes multiple times in order to remove the eye shadow, mascara, and eyeliner. But with this oil mixture, it came off instantly. I also noticed that the next morning my skin felt so soft and smooth which I’m sure has everything to do with the oils I used the night before. Now, you might be thinking, wouldn’t using oils on my face cause me to break out? Well, not necessarily. It all depends on what oils you’re using. I wouldn’t suggest that you go slather your face in Vaseline as I’m sure you would end up looking like pizza face the following morning and that’s not cute, ugh! But, rosemary oil helps to tone and moisturize your skin, while coconut oil offers moisture while also helping to prevent wrinkles and sagging skin. It’s truly a gift from nature.  So ladies if you ever find yourself in a bind not knowing what to do to remove your makeup, reach for a little coconut oil or rosemary oil. You’ll be removing your makeup while also benefiting your skin!
