I recently read the March issue of Marie Claire with Chloe Moritz and instantly fell in love with her cotton lace dress. Women's fashion has taken a turn that I finally agree with. I mean what girl doesn't love lace?! Completely inspired by this issue of Marie Claire I searched all over the web for online clothing stores that sell lace shirts and dresses. As a last resort I went to the one site that sells fashion pieces in every on trend category.

They have everything from street wear to dainty frilly pieces like the lace items I chose above.

1)This lace/ crochet dress is so cute and I get a really cool 70’s Woodstock vibe from it! If I had the courage to rock a short dress I would purchase this pronto.

2) Simply put I picked this because of the cute characters on the shirt. Plus the lace detail on the sleeves makes me cheese with glee!

3) Did anyone watch Firefly growing up?

Remember Anara? The really pretty “professional working woman”/ love interest of Malcom. Anyway The pink lace lapel shirt from Sheinside.com reminded me of her and I had to pick it. While she didn’t wear anything remotely like that on the show, she did often wear things with sexy lace detail and well a part of me feels she could really rock this shirt.

Are you a fan of lace? Or better yet, Were you a fan of Firefly? It was seriously the best show ever and I’m still angry at Fox for cancelling the show.

When ever I hear the word bling I have immediate flashbacks to the 90s hood rap craze where everything was centered around bling. Rappers could not write a lyric without bragging about how many diamond watches they own. This trend annoyed me and I’m actually happy that this word has died down. Now if only we could stop all use of the word swag.

Oscar Worthy Red Carpet Look–Friday Fancies

This weeks Friday Fancies is all about creating a red carpet look. I had no idea what direction this outfit would go in but I saw this dress and just fell in love. This dress screams Hollywood event to me and I could almost imagine Emma Stone wearing this outfit. She is such a sassy classic beauty and I feel that she would rock this dress with no problem. But my celebrity stylist dreams aside, I really like this outfit and if I ever had a fancy event to attend I would probably reach into my Polyvore closet and pull this out.

Lane Bryant-Altamonte Mall Shopping Trip

First off huge thank you to Lane Bryant for kindly gifting me a $30 gift card to Lane Bryant. My mom is a huge Lane Bryant fan and my sister even worked there back in 2001 when we first moved to the great state of Florida. So you can believe me when I say we love this store. Unfortunately there are now only two Lane Bryant stores nearby, one in Daytona Beach and the other in Altamonte Springs. We decided to take a trip to Altamonte because the Daytona location would have been a full 50 miles away, crazy I know! I really wish Lane Bryant would return to the Seminole Town Center Mall in Sanford Florida, oh how we do miss you. The drive there was pretty cool and we blasted Bridget Mindler and G-Dragon the entire ride there!



The Altamonte Mall Lane Bryant was nicely decorated and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by these two stylish mannequins and of course the incredibly sweet sales associate. I really wish I remembered her name but she was so kind the entire time even though my anxiety level was through the roof. She helped us around the store and helped my mom pick out the cutest outfits, which I’ll share with you later.



We spent the first few minutes in the shoe section but after 15 minutes realized we should probably look around the rest of the store and see what we could bring home. The purple shirt above caught my sister Lisa’s eye but after trying it on it was a bit to big and she sadly returned it to the rack.



These jammies were calling my name and I even tried to persuade my mom to purchase them but she said another time. Don’t they look so comfy though. The price wasn’t bad either! We will definitely pick these up next time we are in the mall. My mom had to look around the store for a bit before choosing the first outfit below:



This sequined top immediately caught my eye and I was so happy to see that my mom was on the same wave length. I personally think this top with these Lane Bryant boot cut jeans was so adorable. My mom even added a pop of purple with these pumps she saw while shopping around the store. Honestly this was my favorite and I even wished I could bring it home with me! But this trip was all about Momma bear and we had to see her in another outfit, which is where outfit two comes in.



This is a more casual look for my mom. She liked how comfortable this shirt was and the fact that she could wear this to work and still fit in the business world without looking to laid back. Finally the time came to pick a winner. Which shirt would she purchase? Drum roll please…….

She chose the….second top!

In the end the casual top won over the party sequins. I plan to go back and purchase the first outfit for her because well lets be honest she looked so darn cute in it! I want to take this opportunity to say thank you momma bear for sticking it out with me past my social anxieties and fear of snapping pictures in public. You’re a trooper and I love you and also huge thank you to the night staff at the Altamonte Mall Lane Bryant! You guys were amazing and thank you for letting me be a crazy blogger in your store! Wanted Shoes-Cozy Fall Boots

Thanks to Seventeen Magazine I was able to get these super cute boots from Wantedshoes.com for my sister Lisa. Oddly enough we are experiencing some what of a cold winter this year in Florida. I wanted to make sure she would have something to keep her warm. There were so many cute styles to choose from but in my opinion not enough choices in a size 11. This bummed us out but then we stumbled upon these cuties and our spirits were lifted.





The boots have a nice soft texture and seem to be stain resistant. Soon after purchasing these babies I attempted to find them on the site but they were sold out and no longer pictured on the website. So sorry to say that you may not be able to find these. But, I did see this cute pair of grey boots if you’re looking to purchase some just like the ones above.
